Following the latest Government announcement on Thursday 28 May on the easing of lockdown restrictions the LTA have now updated their rules and guidelines for tennis. These are the latest updates:
- Both singles and doubles play is now permitted with people from outside of your household as long as you remain 2 metres apart as far as possible – meaning that four people from different households can now play doubles
- Use alcohol gel after touching any court gates etc and avoid doing so where possible
- Hand hygiene is imperative – use alcohol gel to clean your hands after touching a shared surface
- Players do NOT now need to use their own clearly marked tennis balls – however, if you choose to use shared balls extra care must be taken to ensure you do not touch your face during play and you should clean your hands before play ad immediately after finishing
There will be no club sessions available so please only go to the club if you have a pre-booked, pre-arranged court booked. Please do not arrange for several people to come down and then have people waiting for ‘their turn’. The guidelines state that people should not be waiting around. You should come to the club for your pre-booked session, play tennis and then go home afterwards.
Please make sure you book a court in advance (there have been a few issues with the booking system but these have now been sorted out).
The clubhouse will remain closed for the time being as we do not have the resources to sanitise everything after each use – we apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause.
Further details can be read here: https://www.lta.org.uk/globalassets/news/2020/lta-guidance-for-tennis-players---covid-19.pdf
We thank you all for your co-operation in complying with the guidelines so that the club can remain open.
Enjoy playing tennis in this wonderful weather!!

Welcome to the CPLTC website...
We are a friendly club that welcomes players of all ages and abilities, from beginner to the more competitive player.
There is an active social side with fun events and barbecues, making full use of our attractive secluded setting and new club house. We have floodlights which enable tennis to be played all year round.
We also run several social sessions for men, ladies, juniors and mixed groups to play together and have a close link with Amherst Primary School.
We have several adult teams entered in the Kent leagues and a wide and varied junior programme with some competing at county level.
