Match Plays

Match Play events are hosted at Chipstead Place for Red, Orange and Green and also for U10s, U12s and U14s. These are a great way to improve upon your player ratings.

The Club is currently working towards Clubmark status under the LTA’s Accreditation Scheme, which we aim to achieve in 2010. Accredited Clubs are those that can demonstrate they meet certain minimum standards and best practice laid down by the LTA.

Competition – Chipstead Place enters a number of boys, girls, mens, ladies and mixed teams in the Kent League each year for those interested in competing against other Kent clubs. The Club also hosts a number of Matchplay events for the younger competitors. Anyone can enter our main Summer tournament and we’ll find a partner for you if you want to have a go at any of the doubles events. There is also a Winter tournament in which you can choose your own partner.

Coaching – we have a great team of professional coaches, led by Matt Doran, offering group and individual lessons and training sessions for toddlers through to adults;

Social tennis – there are designated club sessions where you can come along and meet other members on a very informal basis and simply mix in or, if you want to play outside of club sessions you can contact other members in advance and make your own arrangements using our internet court booking facilities. There is also a session available on a Sunday afternoon if you just want to come up and play as a family.

The combination number for the clubhouse key is in the Administration section. Please scramble the combination when you lock away the key!!Please take time to browse the rest of this website to learn more about us. There are links provided for further enquiries. We hope that you will decide Chipstead Place is the Club for you and that we will see you soon.
Kent League matches

Would you like to compete in doubles against other Kent clubs? The matches generally take the form of two pairs, each playing two matches which are the best of 3 tie-break sets (or two tie-break sets and a championship tie-break). Matches typically take place on a Saturday or Sunday morning from 10.30am (home and away venues) and go on into the early afternoon with a light lunch afterwards.

We also enter Junior teams in the Kent League for U10s, U12s and U14s, which follow a similar format to the senior matches, but usually with a championship tie-break decider.

Club play sessions As you can never predict quite who is going to have other things on at the weekend or in the evenings, why not contact another member, or small group of members, in advance to avoid disappointment. If 2 or 3 people drum up another 3 each you have a ready-made club session. You can also add your name to a club session on the Club website so that other members can see who is going to be there. If you have forgotten you logon or password just click here and we’ll send you details. Please do make sure that the email address the Club holds for you is up to date.
NOTES FOR THE NEW WEBSITE. I will be making new changes so please let me know if you find any errors...The website looks and behaves better if you use the Mozilla browser. I have noticed that the bottom bar overwrites the left hand menu using IE, to clear this press Home in the top menu.
If you are using Internet Explorer you might see some formatting errors around the menus. I am trying to sort these out asap. The website is fine using Mozilla. Kind regards Webmaster.
